1. Educate and involve effectively each member of this body of Christ in ministry and edification.
We believe that every real Christian must be involved in the ministry and edification not only a group of the clergy or professionals. Every member of a local church has an important role to play.
A mature church that is reaching this objective will give proof or signs of this maturity. One of this signs is a true adoration and a genuine expression of worship to the Lord. This church will be committed to interceding praying.
In good times or bad times, it’ll keep ministering to the needs of others. It will stretch out its hands through Biblical council to the confused, hurt, suffered ones and to those that are searching for help. And it is, of course, where all council of God’s Word is preached and teached.
2.Develop a mature leadership that clearly understands its Biblical functions and that can be able to exert them.
One of the signs of a Neotestamentary Church (this means, a church that follows the pattern and practices the New Testament) is the plurality of the pastoral leadership.
It is impossible that one man guides and pastors a big church. The leader pastor, it’s of course, the key man to our leadership and vision. But, as a Church, we must have other spiritual men that fill out the requirements to exert the role of a pastor.
Each one of these men is a leader, ministering the needs of specific groups in the church. The pastors function as a team, working together for the growth of God’s reign and His glory. Working along with the pastors we have a group of spiritual men serving as deacons in the church.
These men must demonstrate their fidelity and total surrender to the Lord Jesus Christ. Chosen by the church, the deacons also are leaders of several ministries.
In order to continue with a mature leadership, it is necessary that a church has a ministry in discipleship that establishes as its goal the development of the leaders of the future. This has to include the ones that serve as seculars as well as those that are guided by God to a full time service. The church must be involved actively to guarantee this training for these future leaders.
3. To be a church of word-wide character, conscious of God’s mission in this world, using its members and its resources to be able to reproduce themselves around the world and, at the same time, to be a pattern or a role model to other churches.
To be a church of world-wide character translates in several practical implications:
It means that we will be preaching and practicing the personal evangelism as a lifestyle. This means that we will be sharing the love and care of Jesus Christ to the people that visit our church.
It means that we will always be informed about what God is doing around the world. It implies a fellowship with a network of churches around the world that shares our philosophy of ministry and our dedication in the Biblical Discipleship.
It means that we will be willing to surrender ourselves and our resources to be able to satisfy others needs as much as spiritual and physical needs.
